What are we doing for the week?
As of right now, we have plans to serve in the kitchen, maintenance, in chapel, and possibly some other construction projects, depending on the skill sets of those involved. Once we know our team members, we may be able to explore some other service options at camp. Please remember that missions, and especially summer camp, will require flexibility, so keep that in mind as you sign up.
What are the dates for the trip?
The tentative plan would be to leave Saturday, July 4, and arrive later that evening. We then hope to take Sunday, July 5, for some tourism, team building and rest. We would then serve at camp July 6-10, with us travelling home on July 11.
Who can be on the team?
Our goal is to make this an intergenerational team. We welcome families, adults, kids, and just about anyone. We are limited on space to around 16 people, but it may be possible to expand the team if the camp has space.
For children ages 13-18, we will have supervision available from our youth leaders. For those bringing children under 12, please keep in mind that we will require you to supervise those children for the week.
What’s the cost?
We will require a $50 deposit per person, or $150 for a family. Our costs are low for this trip; however, we will be doing some fundraising that will help cover travel costs and a donation to the camp to cover our time of service.
Is there an application deadline?
Deadline for application is Feb 22
Other details?
We will require all participants to be Plan to Protect certified, which will also involve a clean criminal record check. If you are not currently certified, we will provide this training before the trip. We ask that each person who wishes to be on the team fill out an application form.
Please contact Pastor Trevor or Youth Director Kiara Kosta if you have any questions.
